WOODWORTH INTRODUCES OCCURRENCE FORM

Atlanta, GA – J. M. Woodworth RRG, Inc., a malpractice insurer in New York State, is writing policies on the Occurrence form for the first time, Tonya Dugan, Senior Vice President-Underwriting announced.

Since the Company was organized in 2006, Woodworth has written policies on Claims Paid and Claims Made forms. Companies recognize claims at the date upon which the claim is paid or the date on which the claim is made under these forms. Occurrence policies are recognized on the date when the event occurred.

“We currently write approximately 75 percent of policies on the Claims Made form and 25 percent on the Paid Claims form,” Dugan said. “We will offer coverage on the Occurrence form at rates that are very competitive with major admitted carriers in New York,” she stated.

J.M Woodworth is rated “A Exceptional” by the actuarial firm and rating agency, Demotech, Inc. Woodworth’s reinsurers all carry “A” ratings from A.M. Best.
