Katherine Moore To Head Underwriting at Qualsure
Sarasota, FL - Katherine A. Moore, a property/casualty underwriting and operations executive with 15 years' experience, has been named Director of Underwriting and Product Development at QualSure Insurance Corporation, R. Thomas Savage, President and Chief Executive Officer announced.
Ms. Moore will be the senior executive responsible for underwriting and development of new products at the Sarasota-based insurer, one of the largest writers of homeowners insurance in Florida. She joins QualSure after a four-year stint at USAA in San Antonio, TX, where she was Underwriting Manager for USAA's Central Region covering 11 states.
"Kathy brings to us a wealth of knowledge in product development and underwriting skills on a multi-state level which will fit well with QualSure strategically. We welcome her to the senior management team," Mr. Savage said.
Ms. Moore is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) with an extensive background in both personal and commercial lines, catastrophe research, and development of web-based tools to analyze market conditions state by state. Prior to joining USAA, she served for 11 years at Nationwide Insurance Companies in various Texas offices and the corporate headquarters in Columbus, OH. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance from the University of Texas in San Antonio.
Ms. Moore succeeds Stephen Dick who is retiring after playing a major role in designing and launching QualSure's product line of residential property insurance in Florida's voluntary market. "Steve Dick did an outstanding job in creating our homeowners policy and establishing underwriting standards. We wish him well," Mr. Savage said.
